Orlando

We are thinking about visiting Orlando for the children's birthday. We reside in Southwest Florida, so we can get there by about a 2 hour drive. Did you know that besides Disney, Orlando's history is over 150 years old? Cattle raising was the primary way to make a living. Once the railroad was put in in 1880, our citrus market rapidly expanded. The mid 1920's was the time that tourism really came about for the Orlando area. Tourism in Orlando is obviously worth billions of dollars, and offers great employment opportunities there. The job market there is huge compared to where we are. The offer great golf-commuties, upscale living and great schools. Downtown Orlando is absolutely amazing. So if you plan a trip that way, just remember there is alot more than Mickey to visit.
